A 16-year-old boy was dropped off at a hospital after being shot Tuesday morning.
Pittsburgh Public Safety says the teen was wounded in the leg, and the family member who dropped him off left the hospital before police arrived.
Officers were investigating in the area of the 100 block of Hawthorne Court in Stanton Heights, and according to KDKA Radio's Marty Griffin, Pittsburgh Police are looking for one of their own right now in connection with the shooting.
They're looking for retired sergeant Virginia Beck, and he says they are conducting a search warrant at her house.
Griffin reports that police don’t know her location and why Beck shot her grandson.
The boy was last reported in stable condition.
