A police chase through the Squirrel Hill tunnel results in a crash and arrest on Wednesday.
Police said a trooper saw a black Nissan Altima driving in an unusual way on Interstae-376. When the trooper tried to stop the driver, he sped up the car through the squirrel hill tunnel. When the car was in the tunnel he was going too fast he lost control of the car and swerved from the right lane to the left lane into another vehicle.
The driver, 18 year-old Cash Jones ran out of his car trying to escape the police. Officers yelled stop but Jones did not stop. A trooper says he heard a noise that sounded like a gun shot inside the tunnel.
The trooper ran down Jones and arrested him. When police searched the scene, they found a gun that was fired once.
Police said a woman was driving the vehicle that was hit in the crash. She was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Jones is facing multiple charges. Police said his car had a strong scent of marijuana.
