New Castle Police have arrested an 18-year-old man in the death of a 3-year-old girl.
Police first responded to a report of an unresponsive child at an apartment on Sankey Street in New Castle on April 24.
The girl was taken to UPMC Jameson and then ultimately to UPMC Children's in Pittsburgh.
The child died on April 28.
On Monday, News Castle Police arrested Quadir Poland, who is the lover of the little girl's mother.
Police say Poland admitted to repeatedly shaking the child, which they say led to the girl's death.
Poland is being charged with criminal homicide and aggravated assault.
