18-year-old charged with homicide after fatal crash in McCandless

Allegheny County Police have field charged against an 18-year-old after a fatal accident late last year in McCandless.

Officials say Aiden Saber of Richland Township was traveling on Irwin Road, near Babcock Boulevard just before 3:20 a.m. on December 23, at a high rate of speed.

Detectives say the SUV was going over 70 mph in a 25-mph zone.

He lost control of the vehicle and crashed.

Six people were in the SUV at the time of the crash. An 18-year-old female was pronounced dead at the scene and a 14-year-old was flown to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Saber was also believed to be drinking prior to the crash. He had a BAC of .047 percent.

Saber is charged with two counts of homicide by vehicle, two counts of involuntary manslaughter, three counts of aggravated assault by vehicle and driving under the influence.

He was taken into custody on Monday.
