A Beaver County man is now in custody for a sexual assault that took place more than 37 years ago.
Detectives used new DNA technology with which they linked the January 1989 Reserve Township assault to 65-year-old Lewis Vearnon.
Allegheny County police say they obtained a new search warrant for a new DNA sample that matched those collected from the victim in 1989.
Vearnon was taken into custody this morning on rape, kidnapping, aggravated assault and other charges.
