PITTSBURGH (100.1 FM and AM 1020 KDKA) The Pennsylvania Resource Council (PRC) has announced that they will holding a free statewide webinar on Earth Day, April 22nd. With this announcement, the PRC has continued their initiative by making our community a more sustainable and eco-friendly place for you and your families to live.

On April 22, more than one billion people around the world will celebrate Earth Day, which annually encourages individuals, communities, organizations, and governments take action to protect the planet.

According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, each American produces approximately 4.4 pounds of waste every day. While much of this waste is recyclable in some way, typically only about 30 percent finds its way to the proper receptacle. “Earth Day reminds us that we have opportunities to improve our world every day – wasting less, reusing, and recycling,” according to PRC Executive Director Darren Spielman. “PRC is proud to help Pennsylvanians become environmental stewards by teaching government, businesses, and residents to waste less each day.”

The free PRC Recycling & Waste Reduction webinar takes place at 6 p.m. on Monday, April 22. Advance registration is requested at www.prc.org/earthdayrecycling by April 21.
