The 2022 Warmathon benefiting the Dollar Energy Fund is currently underway here on NewsRadio KDKA.

Rita Black, Director of Community Assistance Programs at People's Gas, says for many people this has been a very difficult winter, especially with rising utility costs:
"Many people are finding themselves struggling a little bit", she says,
"because prices have gone up and the winter has been pretty cold".
She says with rising utility costs, it's always best to keep the lines of communication open:
"The best thing to do", she says, "is to contact your utility company. Don't wait until you're very far behind, and have a bigger problem. Call as soon as you can, because we are here with resources, and we want to help you sort it out".
Over $62,000 has been raised so far. Last year we were able to raise over $175,000 to support Pittsburghers in need of utility assistance.
Today's Warmathon will continue until 3pm with Marty Griffin here on NewsRadio KDKA.
