2026 opening dates for Kennywood, Idlewild and Sandcastle announced

Winter isn’t even here yet, but you can already look forward to the opening days for Pittsburgh’s local amusement parks.

Kennywood will open for the 2026 season on April 18 and Idlewild & Soakzone and Sandcastle will open on May 3.

Kennywood is promising a new event coming in the spring, saying, “Guests will feel the nostalgia as the park spotlights beloved rides, signature foods, mementos, and memories to start the season.”

The annual Bites and Pints Festival will take place on weekends May 22 through June 28 and on Memorial Day Monday.

All-American Summer will celebrate the country’s birthday in July,

Fall Fantasy Parades are daily August 1-16.

And holiday-themed events Phantom Fall Fest and Holiday Lights will take place September 11 through November 1 and November 13 through January 3, 2027, respectively.
