Over three months later, search for "Lucky" the dog continues

The search for a dog that was taken when an elderly man was carjacked in East Huntingdon this past September continues.

10-year-old Lucky was in 87-year-old Willard Martz’s 2016 silver Focus when police say Kenneth Crider of Poolsville, Maryland drove off.

Crider was arrested days later in North Carolina following a pursuit by police on Interstate 95.

Crider says the Airedale Terrier mix was dropped off at a rest stop on I-95 before he was arrested.

But, there hasn’t been an official sighting of Lucky since he was taken.

Tracy Ruffner with Westmoreland County’s “Fuzz Finders” posted to social media on Monday, December 30 saying they have “no new information or leads” but haven’t given up hope.

With Crider being arrested in North Carolina, there is a huge area where Lucky could be.

Flyers have been hung up in many areas along with mailed flyers, billboards and more.

Several “sightings” have been followed up on by volunteers using drones and more, but to no avail, as of yet.

Ruffner hopes that Crider handed Lucky off to someone that is holding him or he was taken in and the person or family that has him doesn’t know he is missing.

Ruffner is now asking for new suggestions to hopefully find Lucky.

Anyone that can help them “think outside the box” is asked to respond to the Bring Lucky Home to PA page.

As Ruffner points out, only ways to find Lucky are helpful. Opinions on how awful the situation and others posting for prayers only clog up the comments section.
