A proposed property tax hike of almost 40 percent in Plum Borough was met with pushback from residents during Monday's council meeting.
The increase would cover a spending boost of just under 12 percent in next year's budget.
Property tax on a home valued at $117,000 would go from $558 to $774.
The borough has not increased the property tax since 2017.
Leaders say the hike will fund the borough for the next five years or more.
Plum Council is scheduled to vote next Wednesday.
