50 firefighters respond to 4-alarm fire in South Side fire

PITTSBURGH (100.1 FM and AM 1020 KDKA) Around 50 firefighters responded to a 4-alarm fire in the South Side just before 4:00 a.m. on Wednesday morning.

The Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire was alerted of a fire at a three story commercial structure at 1925 East Carson Street.


The fire was listed as a 4-alarm fire to gain the manpower to extinguish the flames.

The main building involved in the fire was vacant and the occupants of the two surrounding buildings were able to exit without harm.

No injuries were reported from the fire and an investigation has begun work to determine a cause.

The building has been condemned and the cause of the fire could be suspicious.
