After nearly 80 years, family-owned Lincoln Bakery in Bellevue is being sold.
Joe Porco, who has owned Lincoln Bakery since 1990, posted on Facebook that he is moving into retirement and has sold his business.
The good news is, the new owners are local.
Joe Cugliari, who also owns Prantl’s Bakery, is the taking over.
Lincoln Baker was started in 1945 by Porco’s in-laws Andrew and Stephanie Slezak.
“Throughout the years our cakes and baked goods became a treasured part of your holidays, birthdays, anniversaries, baptisms, graduations and weddings,” wrote Porco. “We were blessed to play a small party in your significant life events.”
For those concerned that the baked goods at Lincoln will be changing. Porco says that the menu and employees will stay the same, “as long as we continue to perform.”
Porco says he will continue to bake for the time being to ensure a smooth transition.
