A New Jersey man is behind bars after State Police say he was transporting 40-thousand stamp bags of suspect fentanyl on the Pennsylvania Turnpike through Westmoreland County.
Police say 34-year-old Gerard Peralta was pulled over yesterday in Hempfield Township after troopers noticed multiple vehicle code violations on his Hyundai SUV.
That's when troopers found a red bag containing the fentanyl.
Approximate street value - $80,000.
Peralta was arraigned on drug charges, denied bond, and is being held in the Westmoreland County Prison.
