A $17 billion power plant is coming to southwestern Pennsylvania.

A White House source told the Post-Gazette the natural gas facility will be connected to pipelines in the Marcellus and Utica shale regions.

The plant will be operated by NextEra Energy Resources and will produce up to 4.3 gigawatts to expand power production and make energy more affordable.
