It’s hard to believe but November is here and that means it won’t be long until winter brings cold temperatures and snow.
And, according to some forecasts, the snow will be here sooner than you think.
National Weather Service meteorologist Andrew Kinsel tells The Big K Morning Show that come next week, we could see our first blast of winter weather:
“Right now, looks like chances are improving for areas to see at least the first measurable snow fall,” said Kinsel.
He says the forecast is still far out, but the highest chance of snow is north of Pittsburgh and in the Laurel Highlands.
Looking at the winter overall, Kinsel says it will a “wetter winter” in the Ohio Valley with the possibility a warmer winter in the mid-southern Atlantic states.
That means the potential is there for warmer weather patterns in the Pittsburgh area, but an overall average winter.
Kinsel says we haven’t had an average snowfall in the region over the past three years.
