One year later: Shaler Police still looking for missing 70-year-old woman

SHALER (100.1 FM and AM 1020 KDKA) — Just over a year ago, on Jan. 20, 2020, Shaler Police initially received a call for 108 Dolores Drive on a report for a missing 70-year-old woman.

Shaler officers started an investigation, and just over a week later, on Jan. 28, the Allegheny County Police joined the effort.

Janet Walsh, the missing woman, had had dinner scheduled for her daughter on the evening of the 20th.

When Walsh's daughter arrived at around 5 p.m., she noticed that her mother's vehicle was gone.

Walsh's vehicle is a 2018 silver Chevrolet Trax with Pennsylvania Registration KTW 6007.

Strangely, Walsh's cell phone was discovered upstairs in the house.

Walsh was also scheduled for a therapy appointment on the morning of Jan. 21, but she had canceled it, police learned.

Walsh's daughter sought answers from friends and family that night but ultimately called the Shaler Police Department to file a missing person report.

Both the Shaler and Allegheny Police Departments are asking for assistance in finding Janet Walsh.

Walsh is a 70-year-old white female.

In the missing person report, Walsh was also described as being "heavier set with short curly blonde hair."

Anonymous calls with more information can be made to the Allegheny County Police Tip Line at 1-833-255-8477.

The Allegheny County Police Department can also be reached through their social media.
