UPDATE from PennDOT: Northbound I-79 has been reopened to two lanes. The far-left lane will remain closed to traffic for barrier repair work. Please use caution well traveling through the area.
Interstate 79 is closed entirely after an accident on Friday morning.
It happened at the Warrendale Exit (75) with traffic being forced off there.
PennDOT cameras show a truck that appears to be on its side in the middle of the highway.
The multi-vehicle accident prompted a heavy emergency response.
The southbound lanes were closed but have since reopened.
Delays are back to the split with the Parkway North.
Consider using Route 19 until the accident is cleared.
