After a long and hard recovery, an injured Southwestern Pennsylvania football player is finally back home

Mason Martin was discharged from a hospital Tuesday, nine months after the Karns City quarterback collapsed during a game, suffering from a brain bleed.

In a Facebook post, Mason's father said his son spent Tuesday evening sitting "peacefully on the back deck with the dogs."

Martin spent that nine months in three different hospitals.

During his high school's graduation last month, Mason's football jersey was placed on a seat in his absence.

Denny Martin took time in the post to thank all the medical professionals that helped Mason along the way.

“Thank you for your continued prayers and support,” said Denny. “The best is yet to come.”
