The school with the most wins in WPIAL football history is hoping that its next big victory comes in a courtroom.

Aliquippa has officially filed a lawsuit seeking to block the PIAA from moving its football team to a higher classification where opponents would have much larger enrollments.

Mayor Dwan B. Walker told the Big K Morning Show how the PIAA has come to this decision.

“Forced us to move up to this one, I call it hostile work environment,” said Walker. “So, they forced us up to 5A . . . when we already volunteered to play up a level, to play up in 3A and then the moved us to 4A and use words like ‘competitive balance’.”

Aliquippa's lawsuit asks to keep the PIAA from moving the team from Class 4A to 5A for the 2024 and 25 seasons, but also challenges the legality of the competitive balance rule itself.
