The number of COVID-19 cases in Allegheny County have seemingly plateaued for now, but an alarming number of deaths were once against reported on Thursday.
In the past 24 hours, 912 new coronavirus cases have been reported with 630 of those confirmed. 282 are probable.
53 additional deaths were reported. Those deaths occurred between November 11 and December 23, with three of those deaths occurring in November.
Thirty-two of those deaths are associated with long-term care facilities.
The age groups of the new cases are as follows:
00-04 - 14
05-12 - 29
13-18 - 30
19-24 - 82
25-49 - 340
50-64 - 201
65+ - 216
The genders of the newly reported cases follow:
Female - 498
Male – 414
Since the start of the pandemic, 49,650 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in Allegheny County with 3,057 hospitalizations and 847 deaths.
