Allegheny County is on pace to see a significant drop in homicides in 2025.
As of September 30th, Allegheny County recorded 47 homicides.
That also includes three that took place outside of the county, but were handled by the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's office.
In 2024, with the same criteria, there were 98 homicides.
That itself was a drop from over 100 killings in 2023 and 2022.
The latest stats from the County show 68 percent of the 2025 homicides so far were the deaths of black males.
And those most likely to be killed were between the ages of 18 and 34.
