Testing confirms legionella bacteria in two bathrooms used by staff at the Allegheny County Jail.
A release about the test results says no legionella-related illnesses have been confirmed in staff or inmates.
Legionella can grow in water pipes and someone who inhales infected droplets can contract Legionnaires’ disease.
Testing and remediation on the bathrooms are underway.
