Allegheny County is out with a list of bars and restaurants behind on drink taxes.
The County has released its Alcoholic Beverage Tax Delinquent List, highlighting bars and restaurants that are three months or more behind, or owe at least $5,000.
The county Treasurer says most businesses pay on time, but this monthly list ensures accountability and protects funding for public transit.
Among those listed are The Duquesne Club, Mario’s bar on the South Side, Doubletree Hilton Green Tree, and Bigham Tavern.
The 7 percent alcohol tax collected at the point of sale helps support transit and county infrastructure.
Businesses can pay online or contact the Treasurer’s office to clear their name.
