The Allegheny County Fire Marshall has been requested to investigate the house explosion in Sewickley Heights.
The Fire Marshall will join The Pa Utility Commission and Equitable Gas to try and determine the origin and cause of the blast that destroyed a carriage house on the property ion the 500 block of Backbone Road.
Early reports indicate that three different contractors were working on the furnace at the carriage house.
The house was a total loss.
One of contractors suffered severe burns and is still in the hospital.
