People in Ambridge remain under a boil water advisory, five days after a pipe broke at the water authority plant.

A local state representative spoke to KDKA Radio about when clean water will be available again.

State Representative Rob Matzie, who serves parts of Beaver and Allegheny Counties, says the Ambridge Water Authority started testing the water Monday, the first step in lifting the boil water advisory.

He believes that could happen as early as Wednesday.

"It's good news. It was a very large break in a very difficult place to get to.
Thankfully, we did have emergency water coming from West View."

Students in the Ambridge Area School District and at Baden Academy Charter School are learning remotely through Wednesday.
