Could there be yet another change to the beginning of deer season in Pennsylvania?
The Pennsylvania Game Commission meets later this month and will consider moving the start of firearms deer season from the first Saturday after Thanksgiving to the Saturday before.
Game Commission Executive Director Steve Smith says making the change would give hunters an earlier start and provide more opportunities for families that travel together to enjoy the activity without competing with the Thanksgiving holiday.
The Commission will hear comments on Saturday, January 24, the second day of its two-day public meeting on the proposed change.
