The old Banana Republic store on Shadyside's Walnut Street will soon be the site of Pittsburgh's second Restoration Hardware store.
The high-end home retailer, which goes by RH, is set to take over the 14,000 square foot site at the corner of Walnut and Ivy this winter.
Herky Pollock of Legacy Realty Partners says it signals renewed interest in the Shadyside business district.
“When you hear about that, you want to do everything you can to prop it back up and I think we’ve done a really great job doing that and now the fact that we’re going to have both Restoration Hardware, a brand-new Apple (store) and five new tenants coming, I think the next renaissance of Walnut Street has been solidified moving forward,” said Pollock.
Pollock says with the Walnut Street store and the RH at Ross Park Mall, this is the only market in the United States that will have two locations.
