Kennywood’s Kiddieland has turned into Kittyland.
More kittens and another little mother cat were rescued at Kennywood over the weekend.
Rescue and Relax got word on Saturday that a ride in Kiddieland was closed because a kitten was under it.
In a Facebook post, the rescue said a local trapper went back to the park to try to find the kitten and any others, the trapper eventually ended up catching a mama cat and three kittens.
Last weekend, a kitten found near the exit of Kennywood led to the capture of another mom and her kittens and while that first batch of kitties brought in some donations.
Rescue and Relax says there is a male cat that is in the area.
“We've learned of a black tomcat that sometimes roams the park, so we'll work to get him fixed,” Rescue and Relax said in their post. “Some amusement parks, like Disney and Legoland in Florida, allow cats to roam the park in order to keep rodents under control. They have the cats fixed, feed them, and provide access to shelters in case of harsh weather. If there are feral cats established at Kennywood, we'll see if they'd be willing to accommodate a similar system so that we can help them with a TNR program and make sure kittens don't continue to spring up like this.”
The rescue said it could still use wet food, dry food, kitten milk and replacer along with litter.
