Aspinwall Borough Council will consider a resolution Wednesday to censure the mayor there and to call on him to resign.
This issue is a February 16 meeting with the Mayor, two Council members, the Solicitor and a Zoning Officer.
The resolution alleges that Mayor Scott Zimmerman recorded that conversation without the consent of the attendees, violating Pennsylvania wiretap and surveillance laws.
The resolution says Zimmerman allegedly acknowledged recording the meeting because the solicitor was there, who then, according to the resolution, advised the Mayor that recording the meeting without everyone's consent is against the law.
Council is set to consider the resolution to censure the mayor at its Wednesday night meeting, and are also calling on him to voluntarily resign.
No response yet from the Mayor.
