An assistant chief in the Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office has resigned.
Richard McDonald is charged with burglary, assault and other crimes in connection with a domestic incident last month.
McDonald is accused of going to his ex-girlfriend's home in the West End and assaulting her and a man.
His preliminary hearing is scheduled for December 18.
