A bar in Pittsburgh has been ordered closed by the Allegheny County Health Department.
Eggheads Saloon on Brookline Boulevard was hit with 13 violations including one considered high-risk and has an “imminent hazard”.
An inspection shows that there is an active sewage backup in the bar’s basement and that workers have to pass through the area to get to the soda rack.
Also, evidence of chronic, unattended backups were observed that included “dried toilet paper pulp, water damage and calcium buildup.”
The high-risk violation is due to a three compartment sink that is blocked permanently blocked by plywood.
The Health Department adds there appears to be black mold in the basement and a detached building behind the bar had a door open with a large amount of “clutter” and the inside smelling of fecal matter.”
