
UPDATE: The closure has been lifted by the Allegheny County Health Department. It was lifted on April 22.
A restaurant/bar in the City of Pittsburgh has been ordered closed by the Allegheny County Health Department.
Choices Lounge on the 2400 block of Webster Avenue in the middle Hill District was hit with seven total violations.
The Health Department says Choices was ordered closed due to an administration issue.
“Person in charged failed to report emergency to Allegheny County Health Department,” an inspection read.
Other health risks reported during an inspection.
Medium Risk Violations:
They included sewage backup in the basement with evidence of it being a reoccurring issue.
A handwashing sink was blocked
Low Risk Violations:
Men’s urinal is leaking
Unfinished wood under the bar (surfaces must be smooth)
No locks on bathroom stalls
The closure was posted to the Health Department’s website on April 22, with the inspection taking place on April 19.
As of Monday afternoon, Choices Lounge remains closed.
