Allegheny County Police have named and charged a 45-year-old man in connection with an officer-involved shooting Wednesday night in Bethel Park.
Police tried to serve William Adam an arrest warrant, in connection to a domestic abuse incident earlier in the day, inside his apartment on Dorchester Drive around 10 p.m.
Police say the door was “partially barricaded” when tried to enter the apartment. When they were able to look inside, they say Adam pointing a gun at them.
Officers retreated and Adam went into the hallway of the building multiple times while holding the gun. He was shot by an officer and taken to the hospital in stable condition.
Adam is charged with aggravated assault and resisting arrest.
An investigation continues.
