Former Steelers Head Coach Bill Cowher previews Hall of Fame Speech

PITTSBURGH (Newsradio KDKA) - Former Steelers head coach, Bill Cowher, will be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame this weekend, along with four other members of the Steelers family.

"It's funny, it's like you go into the Hall of Fame, and the pandemic hits," Cowher said during the KDKA Radio Morning Show Wednesday. "So what are you going to do in a years time? I wrote a book to fill up my time. And at the same time when you do that, you sit back and you reflect on it. It just gives you a greater appreciation for what this acknowledgement is."

The Crafton native's book, Heart and Steel, can be purchased here.

Cowher will deliver his Hall of Fame speech Saturday night. Coach hinted the Rooney family will play a big part.

"They just had the right perspective, the right balance in their life," said Cowher. "Yet, they understood what the game was about, they understood what the growth was about, the pressures of winning - but at the same time they let you grow as an individual."
