Black bear killed illegally in Fayette County

The Pennsylvania Game Commission is looking for information after a bear was poached in Fayette County recently.

Game warden’s say the bear was found shot dead on Saturday, December 2 on State Game Lands 51 off Saylor Road in Steward Township.

Investigators say the black bear was killed by a large caliber gunshot wound to the shoulder area.

The hunter(s) field-dressed the bear but did not take it out of the woods.

Anyone with information related to the killing of the black bear is asked to call the PA Game Commission’s Southwest Region at 1-833-742-4868.
