83-year-old Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer is expected to retire at the end of the term.

That means President Biden will soon get the chance to name a nominee, which is then subject to Senate approval.

Democrats control the Senate by a very narrow margin. U.S. Senator Bob Casey from Pennsylvania tells NewsRadio KDKA it's too soon to know whom will get the nod to fill the vacant seat.

“I was especially grateful and heartened that the President indicated that he’s going to carry out his commitment to appoint a black woman to the court. I think it’s a great measure of progress for American justice.

The current term ends in June.
