A body found in the Allegheny River near Herrs Landing Thursday morning has been identified as a missing man from Shaler.
60-year-old Mark Massimiani was discovered by rowers. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police reported Massimiani missing Wednesday, adding he may have been having suicidal thoughts and was not taking his medications.
He was last seen Tuesday evening leaving his Shaler home using a ride share service. He was dropped off at Strange Roots Experimental Ales in Millvale around 8:37 p.m. and was seen walking in Millvale Riverfront Park shortly after. He did not have his cell phone, wallet or glasses.
The Allegheny County Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.
