Brentwood Council President Dennis Troy is stepping down nearly two weeks after he was involved in a heated argument outside a bar caught on video

Witnesses say Troy was spewing profanity and used a slur outside Theme Lounge on December 21.

The video shows some pushing and shoving and contains very strong adult language. Viewer discretion is advised.

Troy said the dispute was about an incident involving his son. Brentwood’s new council president is Mike Foyle.

Troy was Brentwood's mayor from 2014 to 2021 and a council member for the past two years.

One of the persons involved in the altercation has filed a hate crime complaint with the state attorney general.
