A Burger King that closed down over a year ago is poised to reopen.

The Green Tree Burger King on Noblestown Road closed down and remained empty for much of 2023. It was even empty at times when still open.

But about a month ago, it looked like the location was being worked on and renovated.

Burger King signage is back up at the location along with a “now hiring” sign.

While its unknown why the location closed down in the first place, there were frequent complaints of long wait times and short or no staff.

The location made headlines in May 2022 when someone walked into the restaurant and found it completely empty.

No customers and no one working in the kitchen.

Only one employee showed up that day and, in a statement, Burger King said they left due to an emergency and left the location open.

It was later closed by manager who locked the doors until it could be staffed.

There were also reports of people waiting for 20 minutes or more in the drive-thru line, eventually leaving without food.

KDKA Radio reached out to Burger King for more information and is waiting for a reply.
