A man is behind bars in Butler County after being accused of stealing the pet dog from a woman he claims to have dated and then shooting the animal in early January.
28-year-old Joseph Hillard of Butler is charged with torture of animals, burglary, theft and other crimes.
He has been unable to post the $100,000 bond and remains in jail.
