A California man is facing over 50 charges, including the sexual extortion of a Pitt student.
19-year-old Michael Vaca allegedly harassed a woman he met and was casually dating in California.
Court papers say the two exchanged "intimate images and videos" before the woman started studies at the University of Pittsburgh in August.
The criminal complaint says Vaca began to accuse the girl of cheating and threatened to share her photos with her professor, parents and school.
He also allegedly also threatened to kill her cat and vandalize her parents' home and demanded $40 to keep him from sharing her explicit pictures and videos.
Vaca is also accused of threatening to call ICE on the woman and her immigrant family.
