Campbells Run Road reopens after flooding closure

UPDATE: Campbells Run Road has reopened after strong storms and heavy rain closed part of the road Thursday night.

Milling and paving work, which was close to being finished before the storm will resume on Monday with flaggers controlling traffic.

If all goes according to plan, the road work will be done early next week.

Jason Molinero, County Public Works Deputy Director tells KDKA Radio the road was forced to close between Baldwin Road and Keiners Lane due to Thursday nights severe flooding.

“We have crews on the scene,” said Molinero. “They’re working to assess the situation, the damage that was done to the roadway, and get it reopened as soon as possible. Right now, it's closed out of safety concerns, just with the debris and condition of the roadway.”

Molinero says motorists could soon see one lane of traffic reopening between 10 am and noon, weather permitting

In addition to heavy storm water and debris, the water took out a second of road that was just paved earlier that day.
