Heavy rains caused flooding around the Pittsburgh area again Tuesday, including in Robinson Township on Campbells Run Roading shutting part of it down for a time.
Part of Campbells Run Road between Keiners Lane and Baldwin Road closed, once again, late Tuesday morning due to flood waters.
Allegheny County Public Works spokesman Brent Wasko tells KDKA Radio the road re-opened shortly after 1 p.m.
“Our crews had been clearing the road of mud and debris throughout the late morning/early afternoon and we were able to pen it back up,” said Wasko.
The good news is the flooding wasn’t as bad as last week and this time, didn’t impact paving operations in the area.
For what is causing the flooding, according to Wasko, is there’s just too much rain for the adjacent creek to handle.
“From what we can tell, our grated structures on the roadway were functioning normally, it’s just a matter of the creek overflowing,” added Wasko.
Nearby on Steubenville Pike, more flooding was observed on Route 60 near the Fireside Inn restaurant/lounge.
