Senator Bob Casey was in Beaver County today in response to last month's train derailment in East Palestine.

Just last week, Casey was part of a bipartisan group to introduce a new railway safety bill.
It would aim to improve safety protocols and increase fines for violations.
Casey was critical of Norfolk Southern's response during his visit to Darlington Township, Beaver County, adding if the company wants to make amends, supporting the bill would be a start.
“Instead of letting those damn lobbyists, those rail lobbyists that have been stopping rail legislation for decades in Washington, Norfolk Southern and all the rail companies should stand up today and say they support our bill,” said Casey. “If they don’t support our bill, they got to tell people why the hell don’t they.”
Casey toured the Darlington Township Fire Department, which says it has lost $124,000 in equipment, potentially contaminated during response to the derailment.
