Pittsburgh Public Safety says a cat has died following an apartment fire on Mount Washington Friday and one firefighter was injured.
Flams broke out Thursday morning on the 100 block of Merrimac Street inside a duplex.
A home next door was also affected. Both structures were "seriously damaged."
Six people were rescued safely from five separate apartments.
The firefighter was taken to the hospital with a hand injury.
The cat was found dead inside one of the apartments.
Officials say the fire was determined to be an accidental fire caused by an electrical issue.
