You’ll notice some changes and upgrades at and around Acrisure Stadium by the time the NFL Draft comes to Pittsburgh in April.
The Steelers' proposals to give the lawn an overhaul and install a new electronic screen at Acrisure Stadium have been approved by the Pittsburgh Sports and Exhibition Authority.
The proposals were approved during a meeting Thursday morning.
The project, named the "South Lawn Project", will be located on the corner of North Shore Drive and Art Rooney Ave, and will convert 10,000 square feet of lawn space into an artificial turf field that youth athletes will be able to use before and during Steelers games and other events.
The new sign, will span nearly 1,120 square feet, replacing the current one that is only a little over 150 square feet near Gate A.
It is intended to be installed on an exterior ramp tower and span from the lower level 4 seats to the upper level 6 seats.
The lawn is expected to be finished by August before the start of the NFL season, while the sign is expected to be finished just in time for the Draft.
