PITTSBURGH (Newsradio KDKA) - After thousands of drivers were stranded on I-95 in Virginia for over 25 hours, KDKA wants to remind our listeners what emergency supplies should always be stored in their vehicle.
KDKA Anchorman Paul Rasmussen, a Montana native, learned a long time ago to always be prepared for these circumstances.
Here is your checklist:
- Blankets, mittens, wool socks and hats
- Flashlight, plus extra batteries
- Jumper cables
- First-aid kit
- Shelf stable foods like granola/protein bars, fruit, nuts, trail mix
- A large, empty coffee can, matches and tea lights (Light a few candles in the can for heat)
- Bottled water (Keep it in the vehicle, not the trunk)
Listen as to why you should always keep these items in your vehicle in the conversation above.
