Child struck by vehicle killed in Homewood South

A small girl was killed on Sunday afternoon in Homewood South and a man was injured Monday morning after two separate pedestrian/vehicle accidents

Pittsburgh police say the driver of a car that struck and killed a little girl on her bike has been cooperating with them.

The accident happened around 5:30 Sunday on Rosedale Street near Tacoma.

The six- year-old girl was taken to the hospital with critical injuries, and died a short time later.

Around 8 a.m. on Monday an adult man pedestrian was hit by a vehicle in the Strip District at Liberty Avenue and 25th Street.

A Pittsburgh Regional Transit driver said the victim got off the bus and ran across the street into traffic.

The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and is cooperating with police.

The man was taken to the hospital in stable condition.
