Council voted to extend the Disaster Emergency Declaration to May 2nd, as leaders decide how to proceed following Friday's collapse. Councilman Reverend Ricky Burgess called the lack of life-threatening injury an act of God.

“God spoke. God decided to save those lives and I’m grateful and thankful of what God did.”

While Mt. Washington resident Tom Brady said council should have been more aware of the bridge's condition.

“If the county notified yinz, and yinz knew about that, yinz should not be playing God, you should’ve shutting that bridge down.”

Councilman Corey O'Connor also proposed a new commission, which would more closely oversee infrastructure in the city.
