An investigation involving the City of Pittsburgh is underway after a sealed search warrant was served by the District Attorney’s Office.
The Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office says it filed and served a sealed search warrant on the City of Pittsburgh Monday, but details surrounding the investigation remain limited.
Prosecutors say the warrant was sealed for “good cause” under court rules and will stay sealed for 60 days, leaving the public scope of the investigation unclear.
Sources tell KDKA Radio the inquiry may center on no-bid contracts connected to the Gainey administration, although the DA’s office has not confirmed that information.
Current Mayor Corey O’Connor tells The Big K Morning Show he isn’t concerned the investigation involves his administration.
“We’re going to be fully cooperative, as we should be with any request from the DA or any law enforcement agency,” said Mayor O’Connor.
O’Connor declined the comment on the investigation, saying its sealed for a reason, but said, “they’re looking into things like contracts and there were things like that, that they’re looking into.”
